But some measures matter greatly.  

For example, LD50 represents the amount of a material, given all at once, which causes the death of 50% (one half) of a group of test animals. The pictured frog has one of the highest LD50 measures of anything in the world. It’s color is nature’s attempt at data visualization. 

The color isn’t an accident. Neither is excellence.
